- 3 parts gin (preferably a dry gin like Boodles)
- 1 part lime juice (Rose's works best because of it's sweet, condensed intensity)
- 1 lime wedge
Shake with ice and serve neat, or stir and pour over ice. Perfection.

I've been tinkering with this for a while, and while recognizing that taste is intensely individual, a nice balance is:
3 ounces gin (dry, as you say)
1 ounce Rose's Lime
1 ounce simple syrup
Shake like crazy, serve in a cocktail glass that's been in the freezer a good while, and serve with a thin slice of lime!!

I've been continuing to refine the Perfect Gimlet recipe, and found a simple (albeit expensive) way to get an instant improvement: Hendrick's Gin. I've been toying with 3.5:1 instead of the 3:1 i described above...your love of lime will drive whether 3:1 is too much lime. In either case, the Hendrick's is devastatingly good! Something about the Rose's lime brings out the rose petal in the Hendricks!
